Ballet performance to be held at Shaheed Bhawan

The theatre buffs of the city will be witnessing the ballet performances back to back in a row at Shaheed Bhavan Auditorium.

A four-day cultural event ‘Dharohar 2018’ will be organized at Shaheed Bhavan Auditorium from Wednesday. Notably, the event is being organized in the memory of a noted choreographer and theatre artist Prabhat Ganguly. The event is being organized by Kirti Ballet and Performing Arts, Bhopal.

Notably, Dharohar is organized every year in the memory of Prabhat Ganguly and under the event; the Bhopalites watch various ballets and dance dramas of different genres. The event is based on classical dances of India.

While talking to The Pioneer, organizer of the ballet fest, Madhav Barik said, “We organized a four-day ballet festival where we focused on women empowerment and all the three days presentations were choreographed by noted theatre directors.”

The festival will get underway with Bharatnatyam performance. The dance performance is directed by Shweta Devendra and it will be performed by Shweta and her troupe. On next day of the event, Kathak classical dance will be performed on Thursday.

It is directed and choreographed by renowned Kathak exponent Alpana Vajpayee. It will be presented by Alok Margi Kathak group

On the third day of the event, i.e. Friday Kalamandalam Kavita Shaji’s directed Nritya Dhara will be presented. It will be performed by Shree Lalam Natyashree Art Society Presentation. To mark the fourth and final day of the event i.e. on Saturday, Ramayana will be presented in Odissi dance form. The dance is directed and choreographed by Madhulita Mohapatra from Bangalore, Karnataka.
