Bhopal: Lokayukta police on Monday raided residences of a Samiti manager of Cooperative Society, Rahatgarh as he amassed disproportionate assets to the tune of crores. The raiding team also found ‘45 land registries and 22 bank accounts from the places of the accused.
Lokayukta TI, Sagar, Jamra said they received complaint that Samiti manager Ashok Kumar Dubey was owning disproportionate assets despite getting a salary of Rs 11,500 per month. The Lokayukta team investigated the matter minutely and found the complaint true.
Three teams were constituted to raid the known places of Ashok, who owns property in Sagar, Berkheri and Garhakota. A team raided his residence in Sagar and seized registry papers of 45 land pieces, out of which 24 registries were made on his name and the remaining were on the names of his wife, son and daughter and it is said that the total value of properties is worth Rs 1.10 crore.
He also owns land in two other places– Garahakota and Berkheri and the department is calculating the cost of land. During the raid in Sagar, the team also recovered passbooks of 22 bank accounts, 12 insurance policies and gold ornaments worth Rs 5.50 lakh and silver of Rs 20,000.
At present, Ashok is drawing a salary of Rs 11,500 PM but he had managed to own huge property through illegal means. The teams will check his and family members bank accounts and lockers in the coming days. The Samiti manager is the first line service provider to the farmers and he used to give fertilizers, seed and other things required for farming.
