Johannesburg – Independent education provider Curro Holdings Limited  [JSE:COH] has expanded its reach in Gauteng by acquiring Cooper College and Magic Beings Crèche.

The company confirmed on Tuesday that the sales agreement to acquire 100% of the share capital of Cooper College was finalised on April 3.

The “acquisition is aligned with Curro’s intention to expand its geographical footprint in Gauteng and to extend its education offering”, said Curro.

Curro said it has plans for the further development of the Cooper College campus and the construction of a private high school for up to 650 learners.

At the moment Cooper College has about 1000 enrolled learners.

Curro Holdings shares were trading at R31.79 on Tuesday at 16:50, up 2.96%.
