Bayswater specialty roast eatery cops $50,000 fine for string of Food Act breaches
A Bayswater eatery has copped a $50,000 for using food trucks and a premises that didn’t comply with health standards under the WA Food Act.
Good Fortune Roast was first visited by City of Bayswater officers in November last year, and found the business was operating without being registered at the Albany Highway premises.
As officers investigated, they also found the eatery didn’t take all necessary steps to prevent the contamination of food, failed to have hand washing facilities for specifically washing hands and failed to use both premises and food transport vehicles that complied with state health standards.
All up, the breaches cost the business more than $50,000, with the majority of the fine stemming from the eatery’s lacking health standards.
Good Fortune Roast has two Perth locations, with another premises based in Northbridge and East Victoria Park.
The Department of Health regularly updates its public list with information regarding Food Act convictions.
