ALLAHABAD: In recognition of the tremendous improvement shown by
North Central Railway (NCR) across all major parameters in the financial year 2017-18, the zone has been awarded with the prestigious best all round improvement cup.
The award was received by the General Manager of NCR, MC Chauhan from the Union Minister of railways
Piyush Goel at a ceremony held at Bhopal recently.
Worth mentioning, in the financial year 2017-18, NCR has not only surpassed the performance of previous financial year (2016-17) but has also surpassed targets given by Railway Board in critical parameters like loading and freight earnings. The zonal railway has set records in several other parameters including installation of solar energy plants etc.
Commenting on the achievement, GM, NCR said that NCR has worked very hard and very consistently throughout the last financial year to bring about improvement across the board, which has been recognized at the highest level. “The credit of this achievement goes to the 65000-strong ‘team NCR’ of officers and staff who have put in their heart and soul in their work” he said.
The award function was organized on the occasion of the 63rd
Railway Week celebrations. It was also attended by Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chauhan, minister of state for railways
Manoj Sinha and Chairman Railway Board,
Ashwani Lohani. The GMs of all the Zonal Railways and a galaxy of senior railway officers and staff also attended the award ceremony.
