Petrol pump murder: 3 accused held

The Delhi Police have arrested three men on Sunday for allegedly killing a 21-year-old petrol pump employee in north-west Delhi’s Adarsh Nagar, following a failed attempt to rob his cell phone, the police said on Monday.

The three accused, Vishal Sonkar (23), Nikhil Saxena (19) and Puneet alias Raju (24), were nabbed on the basis of a clue about their motorcycle , they added.

300 CCTVs scanned’

“We analysed more than 300 CCTVs installed on the all possible routes that could have been taken by the assailants. In one of the CCTV procured near the spot, we found four suspected bikes and finally investigation zeroed on a bike with green colour alloys,” Aslam Khan, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-West) said.

The police received a a tip-off stating that the accused had a bike with green alloy wheels, the officer added.

During interrogation, the accused disclosed that they had plotted to murder the victim, Naresh.

The motorcycle and knife used in the crime has been recovered from their possession, the police said.

Stabbed in chest

“The accused stabbed the victim in the chest. After this, the victim rushed to the filling station and collapsed. He was taken to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment,” Ms. Khan added.

On April 13, Naresh was stabbed near Bharat Petroleum petrol pump when he was on the way to get tea.
