With temperatures expected to reach into the 60s today in Longmont and winds gusting as high as 49 mph, the National Weather Service has declared a Red Flag Warning for the area, signifying high fire danger, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Today's high is forecast to reach 63 under mostly sunny skies and very windy conditions, with winds in the 31 mph to 36 mph range, and gusting up to 49 mph.
Tonight should see temperatures drop to around 29, as winds drop back down to the 11 mph to 21 mph range.
Wednesday's forecast calls for a high near 59 and less wind, more in the 6 mph to 10 mph with gusts as high as 16 mph.
Thursday is expected to be mostly sunny with a high near 66, but then see a 20 percent chance of showers after midnight.
There's a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a high near 56, on Friday, according to the weather service.
And Saturday should see a chance of showers and thunderstorms, and a high near 56.
Sunday is expected to be sunny with a high near 62.
