THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
A Sampath MP has spent Rs 17.69 crores of
MP local area development (MPLAD) fund in
Attingal recording 84.07% during four years, according to figures presented in the review meeting of MPLAD convened by district collector here on Tuesday. 233 projects were completed in Attingal.
Shashi Tharoor, MP, spent Rs 13.98 crores in
Thiruvananthapuram and completed 244 projects. In Attingal, administrative sanction was accorded for 285 projects to the tune of Rs 22.49 crores. In SC sector, 20 projects out of 26 alloted ones were completed at a cost of Rs 1.8 crores. In ST sector 13 projects were alloted, of which eight projects worth Rs 72.43 lakhs were completed. MP fund is allotted in two instalments and first instalment for 2018-19 is still pending.
Tharoor recorded 77.94% utilisation of MPLAD fund. 372 projects to the tune of Rs 20.43 crores were given administrative sanction. In SC sector 21 projects out of allotted 31 projects were completed. In ST sector eight projects were implemented at a cost of Rs 66.44 lakhs. Suresh Gopi, MP, spent Rs 2.48 crores out of Rs 7.5 crores and completed 27 projects.
District collector said that the executing officers should take the initiative in implementing projects under MPLAD funds. Richard Hay MP spent Rs 19.66 crores and executed 109 projects. CP Narayanan, MP, completed 187 out of 258 projects.
