Xiaomi Redmi S2 entry-level smartphone with dual-cameras may launch in India soon: Report

The Xiaomi Redmi S2 is tipped to offer an 18:9 display aspect ratio with 12MP + 5MP cameras, and may be powered by a Snapdragon 625 SoC

As for the camera, the Redmi 2S is tipped to feature a dual-rear camera setup with a 12MP Sony IMX486 sensor or OmniVision OV12A10 sensor as the primary sensor. The secondary sensor is tipped to be a 5MP Samsung S5K5E8 sensor. In terms of camera features, the phone is tipped to come with EIS, Portrait Mode, and Face Unlock.

The Xiaomi Redmi S2 is also expected to feature a 3080mAh battery, which combined with the Snapdragon 625 SoC, should offer decent battery life. At least on paper. It is also tipped to come pre-loaded with Android Oreo v8.1, so it might come with MIUI 9.5 pre-installed. The report also notes that the firmware explicitly mentions an Indian and Chinese variant of the device.
