TENCENT
The popular Battle Royale titles will be offline for sometime, the development team have confirmed.
Posting the news on Twitter, it was revealed that PUBG Mobile servers will be down for most of the night.
“Players, there will be a scheduled maintenance on our live servers starting from April 17th, 00:00 UTC. Standby for more information,” the PUBG Mobile message reads.
Maintenance is expected to start at around 1am BST, so it shouldn't affect players in the UK too badly.
PUBG Mobile users in the United States, meanwhile, will see a lot more disruption tonight.
While other versions of the game will remain unaffected, those on Android and iOS will have to scale back their game time.
That's because it's been confirmed that the game could be offline for around 8hrs, making it a hefty maintenance period.
That means servers might not be back online until around 9am BST, or 4am EST, if you live in the United States.
The good news is that servers could be back online ahead of the estimated time; the bad news is that the development team have also warned that it could take longer.
It’s expected that the development team will be deploying the new PUBG Mobile update, which promises to bring a lot of new bug fixes.
PUBG Mobile is also looking to provide a big upgrade to gun fights, phone optimisation and graphics.
New higher settings will be available to players with top-spec devices, as well as the introduction of an enemy death cam feature.
Other changes will include new dusk weather effects, additional character faces, match history record, daily tasks and new vehicle nitro options.
A lot of new game modes are also part of the big patch, which will add these to the game:
However, it’s unclear at this time if the new PUBG Mobile update will be launched during or after this maintenance.
If it is, we will look to post the full patch notes in this article, with the PUBG Mobile development team promising a lot.
It should also be noted that this new PUBG downtime will only be affecting mobile players, with no plans for maintenance on PC or Xbox One tonight.
