Wichita Falls police have issued a capital murder warrant for a man accused of killing an Abilene man.

Sgt. Harold McClure said detectives are looking for the whereabouts of Eric Glenn Lee II, 22. They are requesting a $2 million bail be set once he is captured.

He is accused of murdering 28-year-old Matthew Liggins, of Abilene.

The charge was enhanced due to a robbery being committed during the shooting, McClure said.

McClure did not have a mugshot to release of Lee as of 10:45 a.m. Tuesday.

Anyone with information is asked to call WFPD at 940-720-5000. If they wish to remain anonymous, they are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 940-322-9888 or 800-322-9888.

Officers were sent to the 1000 block of Juarez Street for a possible burglary of a habitation around 12:55 a.m. Tuesday.

McClure said a caller heard a commotion outside their house, but there was no burglary.

When officers arrived, they found a man in the driver seat of a Jeep Patriot with multiple gunshot wounds to the upper torso.

A witness on scene told officers the suspect, later identified as Lee, got into the backseat of the Patriot and shot Liggins, McClure said. Liggins was taken to the hospital, where he died from his injuries.

According to police, Lee was known to Liggins.

McClure said this was the second murder of the year in Wichita Falls.

Shannon Smith, 29, was found unresponsive on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds on Jan. 1 at the Maurine Street Apartments, 1200 Ridgeway Drive.
