AGRA: In more than half a decade, the militancy and violence affected state of
Jammu and Kashmir reported over 1600 cross border infiltration and terrorist attack, according to an RTI query reply sort by human right activist

Between the period of January 2012 to February 2018, 1563 terrorist attacks took place in the valley, in which 132 civilians were casualties were reported.
The RTI data further revealed, that 1694 infiltration attempts were made from across the border and 758 terrorists were neutralised, but the security forces also suffered heavy loss, and total 338 men were killed in action (KIO).
The ministry of home affairs (
MHA), in its letter with RTI reply, stated, that, state of Jammu and Kashmir has been affected by terrorist and secessionist violence, sponsored and supported from across the border, for more than two and half decades. The levels of terrorist violence in the hinterland of J&K are inextricably linked to the infiltration from across the border.
According to the MHA data, the highest number of terrorist attacks 342 were in 2017 in which 213 terrorists were eliminated, followed by 322 attacks in 2016 and 222 in 2014. The highest number of civilian casualties of 40 were also in 2017 followed by 28 deaths in 2014 and 17 in 2015.
Similarly, in 2016, security forces reported highest KIO which was 82, followed by 80 in 2017 and 53 in 2013.
