In what can be said to be a precursor of a Nabakalebar of the Odisha Congress, All India Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Sunday appointed as many as three senior leaders as secretaries to look after the party’s affairs in the State.

According to a letter issued by the AICC, former Andhra Pradesh MLA Rudra Raju, former Delhi MLA Anil Kumar Chaudhary and former legislator Shaikh Mastan Vali have been appointed as the new AICC secretaries replacing the only incumbent Subhankar Sarkar.

In addition, Aditya Sharma has been appointed as joint secretary for the Odisha Congress with immediate effect, an AICC release said.

“The party appreciates the hard work and contribution of Subhankar Sarkar (former Congress Observer for Odisha), who will be stepping down from the responsibility as AICC secretary for Odisha,” the letter stated.

Rahul Gandhi now appears to be taking serious note of the party affairs in Odisha, according to political observers here.
