From noon to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, the Coutts Museum of Art welcomes back special guest, RoJean Loucks. RoJean will once again bring with her the mystical sounds of her folk harp.

RoJean states that her harp has taken her to Norway, where she toured and performed with a group of harpers; to Canada and Ireland, where she gained instruction for teaching in the aural tradition; and accompanied her on a visit to Japan, where she shared music in elementary classrooms and calmed a fussy toddler in a home she was visiting. It has brought her “joy, calmed [her] anxiety, and eased [her] sorrow”.

The harp has additionally motivated her to teach others to play, and inspired her to compose and arrange music specifically for folk harp. RoJean is available for weddings, memorial services, background music, house concerts, worship services, workshops, and private lessons. Water, coffee, tea, and sweet treats will be provided.

The Brown Bag Concert Series offers shows from local, regional, and/or independent artists for free to the public over lunch on the 3rd Tuesday of every month. The Coutts Museum of Art is a 501(c)3 not-for- profit institution dedicated to supporting art and art education in the community, the region, and to its visitors.
