Just tied the knot: It was a very Washington wedding for D.C. PR maven Erika Paola Gutierrez, 34, and political consultant Kevin Sheridan, 44. The couple got hitched April 14 at the Meridian House in a ceremony attended by several boldfacers.
Gutierrez, the daughter of former Bush II commerce secretary Carlos Gutierrez, and Sheridan, who did stints at the RNC and on the Romney/Ryan campaign, met at an event in 2015 and were reintroduced through friends a year later at the Jefferson Hotel. Sheridan proposed in June at the home the couple had just purchased. This is the second marriage for Gutierrez, who split from her first husband, Rodrigo Garcia — a restaurateur and the stepson of former Redskins owner Jack Kent Cooke — in 2014.
Among the wedding’s 125 guests were VIPs such as former HUD secretary Alphonso Jackson; Stuart Holliday, a former ambassador at the U.N. and president of the Meridian International Center, and his wife, Gwen; businessman Ray Mahmood, the Pakistani ambassador at large to the United States, and his wife, Shaista; Republican strategist Ron Bonjean; and Michael Steel, who was press secretary for then-House Speaker John Boehner.
The bride, dressed in a Marchesa halter gown, and the groom, in a traditional J. Hilburn tux, danced to Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” After dinner and lots of dancing, guests enjoyed the return of spring weather with cigars. The couple plan to honeymoon in Spain.
