The accolades keep pouring in for top basketball prospect Joseph Girard III of Glens Falls.

Girard, a junior, was named New York State Player of the Year by USA Today.

Last week, he was named a second team All-American selection by MaxPreps. In March, the Times Union named Girard as an Athlete of the Year.

Syracuse University's head coach Jim Boeheim and assistant coach Gerry McNamara took a trip to the Capital Region Sunday, according to several news reports. McNamara also has been reported in the mix for the Siena College men's coaching job.

Villanova visited with Girard today, according to Adam Zagoria of the New York Times Sports Network and SportsNet New York.

Girard also is holding offers from Duke, Michigan, Oklahoma and Notre Dame, among several others. The Glens Falls Post-Star has reported he has 21 Division I college basketball scholarship offers.
