Mustard seed futures down on subdued spot demand

Press Trust of India  |  New Delhi

seed prices fell by Rs 21 to Rs 3,884 per in futures trade today as participants cut bets tracking a weak trend in spot markets.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, seed for delivery in April contracts receded by Rs 21, or 0.54 per cent, to Rs 3,884 per with showing an open interest of 5,570 lots.

seed for May delivery also went down by Rs 17, or 0.43 per cent, to Rs 3,910 per with an open interest of 1,23,030 lots.

Marketmen said the fall in seed prices in futures trade was due to cutting down of holdings by participants amid ample stocks in the spot markets on heavy supplies.
