KVP, Raghuveera, 10 others booked

They ‘escaped from police custody’

The One Town police has registered a case against Rajya Sabha member K.V.P. Ramachandra Rao, Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president N. Raghuveera Reddy and 10 others on charges of escaping from police custody.

Acting on a complaint lodged by SI Y. Durga Rao, attached to the Suryaraopet police station, the case was registered. “The MP and other Congress leaders pushed me and a woman police constable who was on sentry duty at the station,” Mr. Durga Rao stated in his complaint. A case was registered against the MP, the APCC president, former Union Ministers M.M. Pallam Raju, J.D. Seelam, Kanumuri Bapiraju, leaders Gidugu Rudraraju, Mastan Vali, Kamala, Sunkara Padmasri, Meesala Rajeswara Rao, Rammohan Rao and Akula Srinivasa Rao, under the Section 224 of IPC (escaping from police custody).

Case details submitted to court

“We have booked cases against Mr. K.V.P. Ramachandra Rao and 12 others for obstructing a police officer from discharging his duties and for escaping from the police station. The details of the case have been submitted to the court,” a police officer of Vijayawada Commissionerate said.
