National Fire Service week held at BHEL Bhopal

National Fire Service Week was observed by CISF unit BHEL Bhopal, along with MP Police Fire Service and Municipal Corporation fire service at CISF parade ground at Security lines in BHEL Bhopal.

All the above three fire services of the Bhopal city jointly organised the fire service day which was inaugurated by Sr Commandant of CISF Vertul Singh. Officers of Safety division of BHEL Bhopal also joined the programme.

The programme started by paying homage to the brave fire fighters who lost their life in Mumbai Victoria dockyard massive fire accident on April 14, 1944 and to all martyrs who have lost their life in various fire incidents by chief guest Vertul Singh, CISF officers, Municipal Corporation fire officers, MP Police fire service officers and all members of CISF.

Two minutes silence was observed by all, for fire martyrs. Chief Guest inaugurated fire service week by lighting lamp and common oath was taken by all for active participation in fire protection and prevention throughout the year to save the national property.

Booklet and Pamphlet was also released on fire safety matters by Chief Guest on this juncture and distributed among civilians for fire safety awareness.

On this occasion gathering was addressed by chief guest and he elaborated the benefits of coordination between different agencies during any fire emergency which was realized during the fire incident which took place in Alkapuri on April 9. BHEL Fire service is continuously organizing multi-agency mock drills in last few months and the benefits of such exercise were also experienced in real fire situations. So he emphasized to conduct such multi-agency mock drills in future also. To create alertness among civilians about fire service day and fire prevention, a Rally of Fire Fighting Vehicles flagged off by chief guest which proposed to pass through different area of Bhopal city.
