• Clippers: Triple-A Columbus couldn’t keep its bats going after scoring four runs in the first inning, and the Clippers lost, 9-6, to visiting Pawtucket.

Francisco Meija and Adam Rosales hit two-run home runs in the first inning. The Clippers (4-6) recorded nine hits but added three errors in the loss.

Reliever Jack Leathersich (0-2) took the loss, throwing two-thirds of an inning while giving up a home run — one of three Pawtucket home runs in the game.

• RubberDucks: Double-A Akron scored three runs in the eighth inning to beat Altoona, 4-1. Bobby Bradley’s sacrifice fly got the scoring going after three straight walks to start the inning. Sicnarf Loopstok hit an RBI triple for the RubberDucks (5-5) to tie the game, 1-1, in the sixth while Connor Marabell, Daniel Salters and Ka’ai Tom each had a hit. Ke’Bryan Hayes went 3-for-3 with an RBI for Altoona (6-3).

• Hillcats: Jake Paulson earned his first win on the mound for Advanced Single-A Lynchburg (5-6) in the Hillcats’ 5-0 win over Frederick. Paulson pitched six shutout innings, giving up four hits and a walk while Micah Miniard got the save for his three-inning, no-hit effort. Three Hillcats hit doubles including Mitch Longo (Mayfield), Gavin Collins and Jodd Carter.
