Rider senior Maddie Kyle's next soccer game will come for Angelo State. But Kyle, a former defender herself, first tortured District 5-5A defenses this soccer season and earned the Most Valuable Player honor.
Kyle scored a team-best 26 goals, including one in each of the regional playoff games last week when Rider was knocked off 3-2 by Grapevine in the Region I-5A final.
The offensive MVP went to 22-goal scorer Alyssa Hollis of WIchita Falls High School; Gigi Upchurch of Denton was the defensive MVP; and Jordan McLarty of Rider earned Goalkeeper of the Year honors in her first season with the Lady Raiders.
Rider's Keeley Ayala, who shook off an injury early in the year to score 24 goals, was the Utility Player of the Year. Ayala will play at Incarnate Word University.
