Further south in Scotland the forecast is for a blast of rain and heavy wind today.
The Met Office forecasts that up to two inches of rain will fall on high ground.
While temperatures are creeping up north of the Border, a high of 18C (64F) is the maximum we can expect on Thursday, before things begin to cool off by the weekend. In contrast, temperatures in London are expected to hit 25C (77F).

Scotland is going to get its share of the warm conditions...just not the lion’s share.
By Monday, Scotland will be back to a modest 12C (54F).

“The areas affected include south west Scotland, Lothian and Borders, Strathclyde, and higher ground in Dumfries and Galloway.
“Temperature-wise, you are not going to do too badly. Glasgow could see 14C (57F) on Tuesday while Thursday will probably be the warmest day of the week at 18C (64F).”
