Chennai: In a shocking incident, a 10-year-old boy died after falling from the second floor of the upscale Express Avenue Mall in Chennai. The boy’s bag had got stuck in an escalator belt inside the mall, reports IndiaToday.com
The incident took place on April 10 when the victim, Naveen Khanna, was in the mall with his relatives. Naveen’s bag got stuck in an escalator belt and he hit the ground and was grievously injured. The horrific episode was caught on camera. He was rushed to hospital by his family with the help of people in the mall but he succumbed to injuries on Friday. The bereaved family is holding Express Avenue Mall responsible for the mishap saying there were inadequate safety measures for children at the mall. A case has been filedĀ against the mall authorities, the portal adds.
