A man told Columbus police he was robbed at 10:30 a.m. April 6 at the intersection of Jaeger Street and East Stewart Avenue.

The victim said the suspect, who had a firearm, approached him and demanded money, according to Columbus Division of Police incident reports.

The suspect stole $50 cash from the victim and fled on foot.

In other recent incident reports in the area:

* A 12-pack of beer was reported stolen April 5 from a gas station in the 600 block of South High Street.

Police officers arrived at the station at 9:40 p.m. after receiving a report of an assault.

The victim told officers the suspects came into the store and attempted to purchase the beer, valued at $6.99.

When the victim asked them for identification to prove they were of legal age to purchase the alcohol, the suspects took the beer without paying for it.

* Between 2 and 9 p.m. April 9, someone kicked open the front door of a residence in the 800 block of South Grant Avenue.

Nothing was believed to have been stolen.

However, the intruder caused an estimated $600 worth of damage to the door.
