PPT celebrates Ambedkar birth anniv

The Paradip Port Trust (PPT) celebrated the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr BR Ambedkar with much fervour here on Saturday.

The PPT fraternity led by PPT Chairman Rineksh Roy and other members garlanded the statue of Dr Ambedkar to mark the occasion.

PPT Deputy Chairman N Vaiyapuri presided over the meeting. Jagatsinghpur MP Dr Kulamani Samal gracing as the chief guest congratulated the PPT management for making a coveted achievement of 100 MMT cargo handling.

Among others, former Minister Ganeswar Behera, former MPs Anchal Das and Bibhu Prasad Tarai, former Union Minister Bhajaman Behera, PPT Secretary UR Mohan Raju and PRO Prakash Mishra also spoke on the occasion. Two books authored by former MP Anchal Das were released on the occasion. Notebooks and pens were presented to needy students and a cultural programme was presented by artists from the Sagarika Kala Niketan.
