Haryana agencies procure 24 MT wheat from mandi

In Haryana, the five Government procuring agencies and traders have purchased at Minimum Support Price more than 24.01 lakh metric tonnes of wheat that have arrived in the mandis (grain markets) so far during the current season.

The procurement process was running smoothly in the mandis, said a spokesman of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department.

Giving details of the wheat procured by government agencies, he said that over 6.59 lakh metric tonnes of wheat has been procured by Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, whereas Haryana State Co-operative Supply and Marketing Federation Limited (HAFED) has purchased more than 8.66 lakh metric tonnes of wheat.

He said that Food Corporation of India has purchased over 3.58 lakh MT of wheat and Haryana Warehousing Corporation has purchased over 5.16 lakh MT of wheat.

The spokesman said that district Palwal was leading in wheat arrival where over 3.46 lakh MT of the crop had been procured followed by district Karnal, which recorded more than 2.52 lakh MT of wheat arrival.

Similarly, over 2.34 lakh MT s of wheat have been procured in Kaithal, over 2.33 lakh MT in Jind, over 1.98 lakh MT in Sonipat, over 1.32 lakh MT in Panipat, over 1.30 lakh MT in Sirsa, over 1.10 lakh MT in Ambala, over 1.01 lakh MT in Hisar, 98,494 MT in Faridabad, 83,961 MT in Fatehabad, 72,079 MT in Jhajjar, 71,076 MT in Mewat, 46,365 MT in Bhiwani, 45,717 MT in Rohtak, 41,542 MT in Gurugram, 31,272 MT in Yamunanagar, 22,570 MT in Rewari, 19,199 MT in Narnaul and 14,209 metric tonnes in Panchkula, he added.
