BENGALURU: Rebellion has erupted in many constituencies as sitting MLAs and strong aspirants vented their ire on being denied a ticket.

Supporters of Gayathri Shantegowda staged a protest at Azad Park in Chikmagalur and set tyres on fire as their leader was overlooked. They shouted slogans against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. In Belagavi, supporters of MLA DB Inamdar staged rasta-roko and burnt tyres, even before the list was announced.

In Terikere, supporters of Congress MLA GH Srinivas staged a dharna accusing Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of denying a ticket to him. Srinivas' wife Vani was in tears. The supporters said Srinivas would contest as a rebel candidate.

Supporters of VR Sudarshan, who has quit at Vice President of KPCC, protested in Kolar as the ticket for Kolar has been given to Zameer Pasha.

In Padmanabha Nagar, thanks to a strong demand from party workers, Congress high command has picked Gurappa Naidu as the candidate. According to party insiders, M Srinivas was earlier tipped to get the ticket.
