Teachers rue joining CHSE evaluation

Even as normalcy in the CHSE answer scripts evaluation due to boycott by the Block Grant teachers was yet to be restored, a section of members under the banner of the All Odisha Non-Government Aided and Unaided Teachers’ Association, who are cooperating in the evaluation work with the hope that their demands for grant-in-aid (GIA) would be fulfilled, on Sunday alleged that they were cheated by the Government.

The association alleged that though the teachers have been holding a sit-in at the Lower PMG for the last 26 days with a single demand for inclusion in the GIA policy, the Government has ignored them.

It stated that the Government had invited for a discussion with the leaders only once on March 22 which was fruitless. The teachers have been working in the colleges under 488 and 662 categories since 2008 in the advanced districts and 2010 in women’s colleges in the backward districts but instead of regularising their jobs, the Government is trying to recruit new teachers through SSB. Association president Dr Naba Kishore Mishra, general secretary Dr Ramesh Chandra Behera, Dipak Sahu and convenor Raj Kishore Barik demanded in a Press release that these teachers should be included in the GIA policy without further delay.
