Dover High senior Riley Warner has signed a letter of intent to wrestle for the Kent State Tuscarawas Golden Eagles.
Warner was a four-year letterman in wrestling for the Tornadoes and a two-year letterman for the football team. He was three-time Ohio High School Athletic Association District Qualifier in wrestling, earned a 28-9 record his senior season when he also was named to the OHSAA All-Ohio Second Team. He is also recognized as a Dover High School Scholar Athlete.
“To land a talented wrestler who is also solid in the classroom is good, but to add a local guy with such a nice pedigree is huge for our program,” said Dave Schlarb, head wrestling coach for Kent State Tuscarawas. “Riley is a hard worker and has shown improvement each year, which will translate nicely because his work is not yet finished on the mat. He’s going to come right in and make some noise for us.”
