In Bihar, JD(U) President and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi and five others today filed their nominations for the biennial elections to the state Legislative Council. Today is the last date for filing nominations for the polls scheduled to be held on the 26th of this month for 11 seats to the upper house. Mangal Pandey and Sanjay Paswan have also filed nomination from BJP. JD(U)'s Khalid Anwar and Rameshwar Mahto also filed their nomination paper. A lone candidate from Congress Prem Chand Mishra also filed his candidature. Four RJD candidates - former Chief Minister Rabri Devi, State President Ramchandra Purbe, senior leaders Khurshid Mohsin and Santosh Manjhi - had filed their papers on Friday. If no other candidates, apart from those named by the four parties, file papers today, the results for all 11 seats could be declared on Thursday, the last day of withdrawal of nominations.
