Southern singers finally get royalty

Indian Singers' Rights Association (ISRA) has organized an event to distribute the royalty amount of Rs 51 lakhs to south singers. Eminent playback signers including Yesudas, SP Balasubramaniam, P Susheela, Vani Jairam, Chitra, Mano, Srinivas, Unnikrishnan, Tippu and Vijay Yesudas were also present at the event.

ISRA’s president Sanjay Tandon revealed that they have started getting the royalty for the South singers, they are expecting more respect and money inflow next year. Interestingly, the event also turned out to be a celebration as veteran singer Yesudas won his eighth National Award.

The royalty amount was collected from various FM stations, music streaming platforms, IPL and various other places where they played the songs of these singers.
