The parking pickle: Transportation analytics company Inrix, in a report on the total cost of car ownership, finds that parking is the unexpected leader, with drivers spending $3,000 a year on average finding a place to put their vehicles. That's one reason why companies are eyeing autonomous parking capabilities to sell in cars. After all, why spend money and time on this tedious chore?
