Two men accused of murdering four people in Brown's Farm, Philippi, are expected to reappear in Athlone Magistrate's Court after their bail application was postponed on Monday.
Vitalis Matema and Albert Mutuubloa are facing charges of murder and attempted murder, after opening fire on a Toyota Avanza in Brown's Farm on Tuesday last week.
A 28-year-old man, two teenagers and a child were killed in the shooting. A second child was hospitalised.
Proceedings got off to a slow start when a Shona interpreter did not arrive on time. Once the interpreter arrived, there were issues in setting a postponement date, due to schedule clashes. A new court date was set for June 1.
Philippi residents muttered their disapproval as they made their way out of the courtroom.
A distraught mother of one of the victims was seen shouting outside the court building as she was consoled by family members. Philippi residents refused to comment as they feared for their safety.
Police are still searching for a third suspect.
