Guv launches book donation programme

The Uttarakhand Governor Krishan Kant Paul  launched a book donation programme at the Government College in Thalisain Tehsil of Pauri district on Sunday. He also inaugurated the  arts  building of the  Government College at Thalisain on the occasion . The Governor participated in the annual programme of the college as the chief guest.

Paul inaugurated the book donation programme at the college and said that donating a book is a great deed as reading books help build one’s character and personality.He said that in today’s world, girls were performing very well in studies and this was very good .He appreciated the cultural programme presented by the girls at the college. The governor said that girls were performing excellently at Commonwealth Games.

The state minister for Higher Education Dhan Singh Rawat said that all colleges of the state would be provided with books, furniture, smart classes and labs to ensure quality education by August 15, 2018.

Besides this, the Governor also went to Pabo development block  where he along with Rawat inaugurated a Vikas Mela. The governor made available furniture for three schools which have been using floor mats. The Governor stressed the need for people to adopt agriculture to boost the mountain economy. He said trees must be planted and lakes and ponds must be looked after.
