Volusia County sheriff's deputies said Monday three men broke into a Deltona home and fired a gun shot and when they left they took with them stolen firearms and money.
The armed home invasion robbery, believed not to be random, occurred about 6:30 a.m. Monday on Ainsworth Avenue, said sheriff's spokesman Andrew Gant. No one was injured.
The victim reported he was getting ready to leave for work when three unknown male suspects approached him brandishing handguns. He said they forced him back inside the house and tied his hands, along with those of three other people in the house. The victim said he struggled with one of the suspects at one point, resulting in a shot being fired through an interior wall, Gant said.
