NIANTIC
Like we have seen in the past, it’s expected that Niantic will confirm the first details of the May Pokemon Go Community Day soon.
Trainers have seen Community Day news announced by Niantic just two days after the prior one, meaning we may get an update this week.
Perhaps by Tuesday we’ll know which Pokemon will be getting the spawn bonus and special move next.
And it looks like we already know that Charmander will be the focus of the next event.
This latest news comes from the Pokemon Go Japan site, which appears to have posted the information early.
While the the image on the site still shows Mareep, the text refers to Charmander, and the fact that its evolution, Lizardon (Charizard) will be the Pocket Monster to learn a special move.
And with the confirmation of the new CD Pocket Monster, we can also expect that Shiny Charmander will also be making their debut next month.
A translation of the page reads: “At “Pokémon GO Community Day”, we provide opportunities for trainers to meet new trainers and to feel local community more strongly once a month.
“This event is a special day when a certain amount of a certain Pokemon occurs once a month, for several hours. In addition, special bonus in the game is planned, so please look forward to it!
“When you evolve from Lizard to Rizhaudon between May 19 (Sat) 12: 00-15: 00, that Lizardard will remember special work. Even during the event holding time, you can not use “Waza Machine Normal” or “Waza Machine Special” to remember special works.”
The site also lists Pokemon Go Community Day 5 as being held on May 19, which is a Saturday.
While it seems likely now that Charmander will be the new Pokemon for May’s Community Day, there’s a chance the dates could be different.
The time difference between the UK and Japan is high, so there’s still the chance that it could be held on the Sunday.
Based on this latest information, it seems likely that Niantic will post this information to the UK Pokemon Go site tomorrow.
Charmander being the next Pokemon for Community Day was first leaked on The Silph Road Reddit page, although the moderators were not able to verify the information at the time.
As with past Community Days, we will have to wait a little longer before we learn what the special move will be.
It’s hard to tell what could be the new exclusive for Charizard, although fans of the fiery beast will likely be thrilled to hear he’s the next event Pocket Monster.
The new event will give the yellows of Team Instinct and the reds of Team Valor a chance to get some revenge on the blues on Team Mystic.
In the previous event, Team Instinct managed to score a victory in North America, despite finishing third overall.
Team Mystic would once again win the overall battle, scoring victories in Europe, Africa, South America and Asia.
Despite only managing to gain a victory in Oceania, Team Valor in red would place second.
The debut Community Day event was fairly evenly split between Team Mystic in blue and Team Valor in red.
