Be available for patients, Collector tells doctors

Collector Vasam Venkateswarlu has directed doctors to be available at hospitals and address problems of patients. Paying a surprise visit to the district hospital on Sunday, he inspected the general ward, ICU and Wellness Centre and enquired about the services being extended there.

Patients at the Wellness Centre complained to him about lack of proper service. When the hospital superintendent was questioned about it, he said the issue did not come under his jurisdiction. Angry with the response, the Collector said the Wellness Centre was also the superintendent’s responsibility.
