On Sunday, when Mumbaikars came down to streets to condemn the rape cases in Unnao and Kathua, at the same time a woman was allegedly molested by a man near Carter Road. The man, a Bhiwandi resident, who allegedly molested the girl, was arrested by the police on Sunday evening.
According to a report by the Hindu, the woman who was molested was passing by the venue where the protest was being held to condemn the rape cases in Unnao and Kathua, and she was not a part of the protest. The Khar Police have identified the accused as Raju Yadav, who is a resident of Bhiwandi.
The incident took place around 8.15 pm when the woman was walking from her home and was near the protest venue. And, as she was walking, the accused allegedly tried to hold her hand and passed lewd comments. The Khar police have arrested the accused under Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code for outraging a woman’s modesty.
