Miscreants booked for attempted murder of electrician

Jehangirabad police have booked four miscreants for opening fire at a 40-year-old man at Roshanpura late in the night on Saturday.

Abdul Nafees was hit by a country made pistol by four assailants when he was at his home late in the night, said police.

Investigating Officer SI Gajendra Joharia said that the victim was hit in both of his thighs and was rushed to Hamidia hospital where he was released after providing treatment.

The victim sustained injuries in both the legs in thighs in the attack in which he was shot with a country made pistol at around 11.30 pm, he added. The reason behind the attack was old enmity.

A case of attempt to murder has been registered against Zuber Maulana, Raja, Salman and Mohsin.

In his complaint victim stated that he was having food at his house when someone knocked his door and when he opened the door miscreants opened fire at him injuring him in his legs and escaped the spot.

The police have registered a case under section 307 of the IPC and have started further investigation. The victim works as an electrician. The search for the accused has been intensified.

Another incident of firing was reported in Kilol Park area earlier in the evening but the incident was in connection with the Roshanpura firing could not be ascertained.

Police are working to find link between the two incidences. Police teams have been formed and have raided several places in the city but failed to nab the accused.
