Missing Agartala councillor found

A CPI(M) councillor of the Agartala Municipal Corporation, who had gone missing on Monday morning, was found in an unconscious state in the evening. Malay Chakraborty, CPI(M) councillor of Ward 34 who bore some injury marks on his body, was admitted to a hospital.

Locals traced him near the Battala cremation ground and informed the police.

Mr. Chakraborty had left his Joynagar residence in the morning. The police said they would question Mr. Chakraborty after his recovery.

Earlier, family members of the councillor had said that he had left his mobile phone and personal belongings at home, but gave no further details.

The police said the mobile phone had all the call details and messages deleted.
