Cab driver sexually assaulted woman in parking lot: Niagara police

Niagara police say a woman was taken to a parking lot in St. Catharines by her cab driver where she was allegedly sexually assaulted.

Niagara police say the driver picked the woman up Sunday around 12:45 a.m.

Niagara police say a woman was taken to a parking lot in St. Catharines by her cab driver where she was allegedly sexually assaulted. 

Police say the woman was picked up around 12:45 a.m. Sunday morning in the St. Paul Street and Ontario Street area.  

She was then taken to a parking lot in the area of Bunting Road and Welland Avenue where she was sexually assaulted, say police. 

A 39-year-old man from St. Catharines has been arrested and charged with sexual assault. 

The 39-year-old is being held in custody pending a bail hearing today at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines.
