Two killed, four injured as car hits divider

Two youths were killed while four others were injured when a speeding Ciaz car in which they were travelling in, hit the divider of the Chilka bridge on Gomia–Kathara Road of the city outskirts here on Sunday afternoon, police sources said

According to a police official, the mishap occurred at around 4pm on Sunday at Chhilka bridge  Gomia-Kathara road, when the youth ,who was driving the car, lost control over the steering and the vehicle rammed into  divider of the road.

The officials said, “in the mishap, a 25 year old Niraj Mahto son of Late Mithlesh Mahto belonging to Govindpur village died on spot and one other namely Umesh Munda a CCL employee died in the hospital during his treatment. While four others received serious injuries identified as Navin Mahto, Vinod Kumar ,Abhimanu alias Monu and Teklal Prasad .

The incident occurred at around 4;15pm, when the all two deceased, accompanied by their four friends were stepping towards Kathara from Gomia. 

“As they stood on the divider attempting to negotiate the continuous stream of vehicle, the errant driver and his car suddenly swooped down on them, crashing into the divider, local said .
