LETTER TO THE EDITOR

GM's action is just a poor excuse

TO THE EDITOR:

Regarding “GM to stop reporting U.S. sales monthly, switches to quarterly release” (autonews.com, April 3), many thousands of people in the auto industry look forward to monthly sales reports.

General Motors’ action is just a poor excuse for some unknown reason. I doubt it would take GM more than two to three hours per month to inform industry sources such as Automotive News the number of new vehicles sold by make and model line.

You know the company is keeping track of these numbers daily, if not weekly or monthly. Switching to reporting sales quarterly just makes GM look silly.
