A Schenectady driver on Monday was sentenced to one to three years in state prison for hitting two people while driving out of the parking lot of Ravenswood Pub in Clifton Park in 2017, according to the Saratoga County District Attorney’s Office.

Christopher W. Jones, 57, pleaded guilty to felony vehicular assault in February for his role in hitting two people with his car and fled the scene.

Jones was driving out of the Ravenswood Pub parking lot on June 3, 2017, when he struck bar owner, Stephanie Van Auken and another person. They were attempting to prevent Jones from driving drunk.

Van Auken, known as "Mama,"  suffered serious injuries and was treated at Albany Medical Center and transferred to Seton Health at Schuyler Ridge for rehabilitation.

Jones fled after hitting the victims and returned to his home in Schenectady, where he was located, arrested and charged.

Jones was also sentenced to mandatory license revocation and court fees along with an order, or restitution, payable to the victim for unreimbursed medical expenses.
