Cattle-laden truck seized in N’para

Late on Friday night, the Nimapara police seized a cattle-loaded truck at Kalapanchan Chhak here.

As many as 57 cattle were being transported by the truck to Kolkata after being procured from Tulasipur under the Nimapara police limits. At the time of night patrolling, Nimapara police station IIC Mrutyunjay Swain and his team chased the truck and intercepted it at Kalapanchan Chhak.

The truck’s driver and helper ran away from the spot. The police arrested the cattle businessman Mohammad Saleem. The cattle were handed over to a cowshed located at nearby Sakhigopal.
