Liverpool transfer news: Thomas Lemar move takes shock twist because of Jurgen Klopp
LIVERPOOL have reportedly cooled their interest in signing Thomas Lemar from Monaco with Jurgen Klopp no longer keen to sign the France international.
Liverpool were linked with Lemar during the summer and winter transfer windows.
However, Monaco flatly refused to sell the player, despite Arsenal managing to strike an agreement to sign him as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez, who looked Manchester City-bound.
Liverpool were understood to have earmarked Lemar as a priority target, with the Reds still fuelled by cash gained from Philippe Coutinho’s £142million move to Barcelona.
However, the Liverpool Echo insist that is not the case and that the player will not be moving to Anfield as things stand.
Lemar propelled Monaco to the Ligue 1 title 12 months ago, something that saw his value soar.

A decent 14 goals from 54 games last term had Liverpool fans dreaming of a transfer.
Yet Lemar has been unable to maintain the same high levels of performance, managing to find the net just three times.
And the Liverpool Echo say Klopp is no longer convinced he is the right man for Liverpool’s already formidable attack.
That could now pave the way for Arsenal to snap him up.
Monaco president Vadim Vasilyev yesterday appeared to admit Lemar would be allowed to leave the Monte Carlo outfit.

But only if the price is right.
"Good luck to those who want him,” he said. When quizzed about how much he would cost, Vasilyev simply added: “He would cost a lot.”
Liverpool have been linked with a roster of attacking players in recent times.
Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale has been tipped to move, particularly if Mohamed Salah goes in the opposite direction.
Juventus’ Paulo Dybala is another potential target amid doubts over his long-term future in Turin.
