Now, Odisha have easy access to world class liver treatment.

BHUBANESWAR: Patients from the State and other parts of the eastern region can now have easy access to world class liver treatment including critical medical services like liver transplantation.

AMRI Hospitals on Sunday launched a liver treatment OPD Clinic in association with Medanta-The Medicity, a Gurgaon-based multi-specialty medical institute. The OPD services of the specialised liver treatment clinic would be available for once in every month. The facility available for the first time in Odisha will offer easy access to world class liver treatment.

Chairman of Institute of Liver Transplant and Regenerative Medicine at Medanta AS Soin will head the institute along with senior consultant Dr Prashant Bhangui.  A globally reputed surgeon Soin has performed over 2,700 liver transplants and led India’s largest and most successful liver transplant programme at Medanta, which is rated as a Tier-I programme globally.

“Liver transplant is a complex procedure which requires several critical simultaneous parameters to be addressed in a time sensitive manner. Rapidly changing lifestyles are leading to a higher incidence of liver disease. With the launch of the facility, we will address vital health issues in the best possible manner,” Dr Soin said.

Once the center is fully established, needy patients can avail the facility here in Bhubaneswar itself at a comparable cost.

Vice-President and Unit Head of AMRI Hospitals Dr Vivek Lal said the joint venture will be another feather on the cap of AMRI hospitals, which stands committed to offer comprehensive tertiary medical care in eastern India.
