Not pleased with the act, local JD(S) leaders and workers started abusing the youngsters, before cops stepped in to disperse the crowd and brought the situation under control.

Moksha to Siddaramaiah

Kumaraswamy said that the party had announced candidates candidates for 126 constituencies in the first list, and for an additional 20 in the second list. “The final list of candidates will probably be out by April 17,” he said.

Stating that the JD(S) was not concerned about Siddaramaiah’s plans on fighting the assembly elections from two segments, he added, “JD(S) is not worried about Siddaramaiah contesting from one or two constituencies. We are contesting in all 224 segments, and our target is to win 113 seats.”

Responding to reports that Siddaramaiah could be fighting from Chamundeshwari alone, Devegowda said, “Chamundeshwari constituency gave Siddaramaiah political birth and rebirh. In this election, Siddaramaiah will get ‘Moksha’ from the constituency.”

‘Devegowda could be next district in-charge minister’

In the course of the roadshow, Kumaraswamy had some good news for GT Devegowda. Kumaraswamy informed the people that Devegowda would be appointed the Mysuru district in-charge minister if the JD(S) were voted to power. “He will be the equivalent of a CM in Mysuru,” Kumaraswamy said. A visibly ecstatic Devegowda broke into a dance on hearing the announcement. Kumaraswamy’s announcement comes against the backdrop of Devegowda voicing apprehensions over the former CM growing too close to the latter’s rivals in the district, such as KR Nagar MLA Sa Ra Mahesh.
