RAJKOT: The
Saurashtra University administration has claimed to have busted a
fake mark sheet scam in its Homeopathy department.
A probe committee formed to look into the matter has found involvement of nearly 41 students, a dean of the department and three colleges of Rajkot and Amreli.
The university administration has decided to lodge an FIR against those found guilty in its internal probe.
According to reports, Dr Amitabh Joshi, the dean of the Homeopathy department in SU and principal of Rajkot’s BA Dangar college was allegedly involved in this scam.
Dr Nehal Shukla, the coordinator of the probe committee and a syndicate member of SU, said: “Some of the students alleged that Dr Joshi took between Rs 3.50 lakh to 7 lakh donation for their admission in SU on the basis of forged mark sheets and other documents.”
"The students who could not secure admission in the SU after senior secondary exams prepared forged mark sheets of first year results of other universities. They then get themselves transferred to the SU and take admission in second year course," Shukla said.
Principals of Rajkot’s B A Dangar College, B G Garaiya Homeopathy Collage and
Amreli Homeopaty College were allegedly preparing fake mark sheets for such students, she added.
