Karnataka: Country tallest national flag damaged again

BELAGAVI: Unable to withstand strong winds, the tallest national flag once again collapsed and fell down at the Kote Kere in Belagavi on Saturday.

The biggest and tallest flag of the country, which was hoisted in Belagavi on March 12, was first found damaged on the 22nd day of its installation, which was April 3. On the 33rd day of its hoisting, the flag got damaged again as it was unable to bear strong winds and demanding weather conditions.

The 9,600 sq feet national flag, which fluttered on a 365-feet-high flag mast fell down in the evening. Responding to the unfortunate incident, a team rushed to the spot and took the 500 kgs damaged flag into its custody.

The huge flag, which is made of Denier polyester, was expected to sustain all weather conditions.
